If a trumpet is blown in a city, will not the people be afraid? If there is calamity in a city, will not the Lord have done it? Surely the Lord God does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets. A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken! Who can but prophesy?

We are in the eye of a prophetic storm. This is especially relevant for the church, especially the western church. Many evangelicals have expressed a belief that Donald Trump’s election was the hand of God and that he was specifically chosen; some have even likened him to Cyrus. Many are even more convinced of this after his proclamation that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel and plans to move the US embassy there by the end of 2019. There is no doubt that Trump’s election has brought about a season of emphasis on Christendom, the Gospel, Israel, and the Person of Jesus. News outlets have been airing series on “Finding Jesus” and a variety of daytime TV shows have delved into topics that include the Ten Commandments, Christian values, and other Gospel teachings. Does this support their argument?
