On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have set watchmen; all the day and all the night they shall never be silent. You who put the LORD in remembrance, take no rest (Isaiah 62:6 ESV).
Silence dominate the halls of the church in America. The halls of our great churches echo niceties and prosperity messages; a veil is continuously over the eyes of the people. The prophets shake their heads in dismay as christian leaders fail time and again to sound the alarms; yes, even as the enemy sets up battering ramps against the church. Darkness has crept into the church; the walls have been breached and it is as if the church has decided to cower in the corners of fear and trembling. Such a spirit we were not given. “We are the light of the world” seems to be a distant memory to far too many of us.
The day is fast approaching and is already here. Terror has entered the gates; the enemy is in our midst. Saints are losing their lives just for being christians; men, women, and children are being slaughtered for declaring their faith in Jesus Christ. They are unwavering in their faith and uncompromising in their loyalty to the One Who gave it all to bare our sins.
The days of lavish comforts are drawing to a close. The armies of the great dragon has marched against us and have set their camps in our midst. The great harlot has seduced many and still others continue to fall for her lies. We are drunk with the deceptively sweet wine of the world and full from the tasty morsels of poison that is slowly killing us.
The tables are turning; persecution is again becoming the norm for christians. As it was, so shall it be again but rejoice, lift up your eyes and pay attention to the light bursting through the dark clouds. The time of the gentiles is at an end; the light has again shifted to the apple of His eye. Israel, the glorious land is about to have the veil lifted.
The watchmen have received their instructions and have taken their posts. The priests of God are declaring his message; the spirit of Elijah has returned to Israel. The prophets are again declaring the judgements of our God. Still, the people do not listen. Once again we have stopped our ears from hearing and our eyes from seeing. Once again God’s messengers are told to take their message to another people.
The nations have been exposed; America’s nakedness has been revealed and her shame has gone up to God. The watchmen have sounded the alarms but the church has taken the lead in the retreat. Still others have aligned with the darkness. Their riches have been cast down and their pride brought low. The tower of defiance is cast down and babel is again judged. They continue to look within for the answer but “the fools says in his heart there is no God”; like a child they have foolishness bound up in their hearts but the rod of correction has been left to rot in our steeples. The Lord laughs at our arrogance; He strikes the land with the sword of His mouth and breaks down the gates of the enemy. We have become exceptionally sinful; we walk continuously in the counsel of the ungodly, we stand continuously in the path of sinners, and have set our place in the seat of scoffers.
It is time for the church of Jesus Christ to stand up and shine our light. It is time to unite and declare the truth and judgements of the Lord. It is time! The Fig tree has blossomed.
