“From the time of Yochanan the Immerser until now, the Kingdom of Heaven has been suffering violence; yes, violent ones are trying to snatch it away”
MATTHEW 11:12
Other Bible translations render the end of the above verse, “the violent take is by force.” These timeless words point to a dilemma that we still see and experience in today’s societies. People may refer to it as the struggle against good and evil; except, what society calls good may be subject to interpretation. Self-interest is one of the most prevalent characteristics that cause us to set ourselves up against the Kingdom. In his second letter to Timothy, the Apostle Paul warned that “in the last days, People will be self-loving, money-loving, proud, arrogant, insulting, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, uncontrolled, brutal, hateful of good, traitorous, headstrong, swollen with conceit, [and] loving pleasure rather than God” (2 Timothy 3:2-4).
The Violent is in full assault against the Kingdom and believers in Yeshua must stand firm to protect our territory. We must stand against anything that encroach on the Kingdom and learn to recognize the disguise of the enemy. We will disagree on certain topics but anything that causes division in the body of Messiah is a vehicle of the Adversary to infiltrate his congregation.
Stand your ground, stand strong, and do not be so easily deceived. Be ready to make sacrifices to protect the Kingdom; sometimes laying aside concern for ourselves, our thoughts, and even opinions that we’ve held dear. The Kingdom of God is more than any individual, but God made us an integral part of extending and defending it.
Protect your territory and the beloved of Adonai with whom we share a common purpose. Lay aside matters of politics and others that the world holds dear, and stand on the word of Adonai and for His congregation. Yeshua says, “My Father has handed over everything to me. Indeed, no one fully knows the Son except the Father, and no one fully knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son wishes to reveal him” (Matthew 11:27). Stand strong on the word of Adonai and trust in Yeshua. He will give you discernment to distinguish between what is truly good and what is evil. He will shield you from the fiery arrows of the enemy while you hold your ground!
