Tumultuous Times

“Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace and do not be still, O God! For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; and those who hate You have lifted up their head. They have taken crafty counsel against Your people and consulted together against Your sheltered ones”. (Psalm 83:1-3, NKJV)

Who will stand for you when the court is called to order and whose wings shall be your shelter? In whom do you place your trust and under what covering do you stand to find shade from the fire storm?

They have blanketed the skies with their lies and have set in place a stage for their deceit. They believe their own lies and their smiles are as that of the innocent. In their corruptness they believe they speak in innocence but are indeed aids of the devil. They cover up what is coming on the earth with lies and scientific rhetoric. They dress in white to cover the blackness of their hearts. In their chambers they plot the demise of the innocent and in their bed they flirt with the enemies of heaven.

Their smiles are poisonous and their lips carry a heavy burden. They deceive the masses and tell lies to “keep people calm”. They believe their willful deceit is to protect the people from themselves and to keep the nations from falling into chaos. They have convinced themselves that they act honorably but their honor are but chains anchored to the titanic.

The people are running to one whose smile is but external and whose words cover a multitude on iniquities. Yet not for love of the brethren; but for the service of self and the pride of wealth.

Have I confused you enough yet? It is difficult to say plainly what I see and the things that are revealed to me. In the nights watch I see calamity racing toward those who dwell in safety and deceit flowing from those who wear the cross upon their shoulders. The devil has long infiltrated the church and few are they who fight to keep the darkness back. Yet we are warned that the saints will be given into his hands to overcome them for a time.

Rulers of the nations and leaders in the Church have given over their authority to the devil and are in the process of dividing the Glorious land through deceit and treachery. Through an attempt to flatter the chosen people, some have given permission (without authority) to deny Christ and in their deceit attempt the drag the church toward the flames of hell.

The heavens are writhing in labor pains and what is coming will soon be revealed but even that, they have attempted to cover up. The signs have been discounted as mere “norms”. They have tried to veil the eyes of the people with what they would have them believe. Many have fallen away from the church for the sake of “peace” without even knowing it for they still frequent the building. They think they fight on the side of truth but have merely switched sides in the spiritual battle for their shall be no peace with man. Abominations rest their elbows on the altar and wag their fingers at those who dare to hold to the word of God. They say, “We have the truth” but the truth has long escaped them and their dealings are that of lies and worthless lusts.

Religion is on the lips of many but spirituality escapes them. Some speak of spirituality but righteousness is far from them. They preach of humanity but are blind to humanity’s fallen nature. World leaders are racing to the riches that flow beneath the earth but it shall be used to stoke the flames that will swallow them whole. They leave cities in ruins but do not realize they are but the tools God has chosen  to fulfill what He has long ordained. “Damascus shall be a ruinous heap” and indeed it now is. Nations shall be gathered together and indeed they are now on their way.

So, Who will stand for you when the court is called to order and whose wings shall be your shelter? In whom do you place your trust and under what covering do you stand to find shade from the fire storm?

Light of God or Dark Accuser?

“Like the glaze covering an earthen vessel are fervent lips with an evil heart. Whoever hates disguises himself with his lips and harbors deceit in his heart; when he speaks graciously, believe him not, for there are seven abominations in his heart; though his hatred be covered with deception, his wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.” (Proverbs 26:23-26)

An accusation has come up against me for my service in the house of the Lord. Nuriel has stood up to accuse me. The court is in session and his multitudes seek to incite the peoples against me. He dresses himself in the light of God but darkness surrounds him. Their threats echo through the hearts and minds of those who sit before the altar. Yet, I will prevail; Michael has stood up to defend me. One has been appointed to withstand the many and under his wings I am shielded from fear.

My home dwells in the midst of a battle field. The tumult of multitudes steals away my peace; my joy is reduced to nothing and my heart is squeezed of every tear. Many voices have lent their lips to my aggressor and my foundation is under assault. My joy to serve is cast into the chambers. Joseph knows my travail and the anguish that aims to crush my soul. Job sees my tribulation and warns of speech without knowledge.

The enemy has aimed straight at my heart and seeks to turn me away from my Father’s house.

My couch has become my enemy; my back bends under the weight of many accusations. But I shall not be broken. I will seek the Lord in prayer and fasting for my defender is great and pleads my case without reservations. Some stand to accuse but my intercessors are many. They stand in solidarity knowing my shame is cast aside. I have been washed and cleansed of my past iniquities and my God embraces me.

Yet I must withdraw and seek the Lord in prayer and fasting. I must go out into the wilderness for a time. The Spirit of God compels me for I cannot do this alone. My accusers are tall and strong; dwelling in the shadows above their victims. But they have been revealed; their plot has been exposed. My defender is appointed and my case is decided yet I must remain in prayer for the fulfillment of my joy is yet ahead.

Christ my Savior reigns supreme and intercedes on my behalf. He is above all powers and principalities. He sits at the Right hand of the Father while His Spirit is at work in me; cleansing me of all unrighteousness and preparing me for my reward. They growl as lions but the Lion of Judah whispers a thunderous word. “Let not your heart be troubled” He says. “Let love remain in your heart and tolerance be ever before you. Seek Me and you shall live. My peace I give you; dwell in it with patience and your travails shall all be washed away”.

Untold Dreams

“Also I saw in my dream, and suddenly seven heads came up on one stalk, full and good. Then behold, seven heads, withered, thin, and blighted by the east wind, sprang up after them. And the thin heads devoured the seven good heads. So I told this to the magicians, but there was no one who could explain it to me.” (Genesis 41:22-24, NKJV).

What do you do with dreams that are seemingly random but continually parallel others over time? The Watchman has had and documented visions of war on the home front; visions of invasion and destruction in the midst of a blind population. The Watchman has seen in his vision, the sign of Jonah; the rising of Jonah from the belly of the whale. These are the days of Jonah and the message of repentance have been delivered and echoed abroad. Many watchmen have been sounding the alarms and warning of things to come.

They have become accustomed to the dark; they say “we see clearly and you are delusional”. The moles have gathered together to instruct the eagle in the ways of the sun. They mistake darkness for light; calling good evil and evil good. They say “keep your message of doom and gloom to yourself”.

Shall the watchmen speak softly of the enemies approach? Shall he not gladly announce the approach of the King? Can the dark instruct the light in the ways of the sun? Shall the turkey instruct the eagle regarding life on the cliffs?

They close their eyes and stop their ears when truth contradicts their beliefs. Yet, they shall witness that which has been declared. They shall have to defend themselves in the day of trouble. Yes, the day of affliction awaits and is now here. Yes, tomorrow you will see clearly what you deny today but your memory shall be blotted out and the hardness of your heart will prevail.

These are the days of Jonah when many run blindly from the word of God. There is a tumult in the great sea and only One has the power to save. There is a rising in the waves and the boughs of great vessels are bending under their might. Will you be as Nineveh and repent or will your abstinent heart deliver you up to the wrath of the Almighty God. Yes, The winepress of the wrath of God is prepped and ready.

Will you submit to the will of God, or is repentance to far from you? Will you not dwell in the shadow of the Almighty, where safety dwells? Life is at a crossroad and there are only two options. Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!

Season of Joy

He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
                                                   (Psalm. 91:4, NKJV)

What was on your heart when you woke up this morning or as you were closing out the night and heading to bed? Was it love, fear, or just a list of what you need to get done today? If you live or work in a city it is not hard to see the extra precautions being taken amid the rise in violent crimes and terror threats. You can see and feel paranoia permeating the atmosphere; eyes gazing suspiciously as you reach to your belt clip for your cell phone, or paying extra close attention to the bag you are carrying. You may even one of those people acting in such a way. It may or may not be fear that motivates us, it could be that you are simply being alert to your surroundings, and rightly so.

I did not wake up with these things on my mind. No, I woke up with a song of praise on my heart, accompanied by a strong desire to pray for those who God placed on my heart. Yet, it is difficult to ignore the sites and scenes as I travel to work. It is evident that change has arrived and there is no indication it will return to “normal” anytime soon. We are in a season of the watchmen who are diligently and obediently sounding the alarms. Warning of a mighty wind sweeping in from the east, bringing with it the locusts of war; an invading army with judgement beneath their wings. There is a mighty wave rising from the northeast carrying with it that which aims to consume everything before it. Is this not the season of the watchmen?

Yet, it is not just the sound of danger that the watchman trumpets. He also awaits the return of the Royal Party. He eagerly awaits the return of his King, Who has left charge of the city to the elect ones. The watchmen long to blow the trumpet of Jubilee; the sound that gathers together those who rejoice in the King; whose spirit reflect the Kings desires and are faithful to carry out all that He charges them with. The watchmen await the day they are relieved of the duty; when walls are no longer necessary, for their King brings peace and safety.

Are we not the watchmen and women set in place to warn the nations that stray from the commands of our Lord? Do we not more eagerly await the return of our King more than the march of the enemy? Yet we know that the enemy is already on the move and that his attack is imminent and must begin before the King returns. So we stand fast, not in fear and not to cower safely behind the walls of the church. We must stand boldly on the walls and blow the trumpet. We must diligently proclaim that which our King has commanded us.

Jesus, our King is coming to relieve us of our duty but we must not be slack in it. He will tear down the walls and build around us peace, joy, and love. Until then, we are dwelling on the battlefield and must remain vigilant. We must stay sharp and diligent, not allowing the fog of war to set in or letting the noise of the enemy scare us. We cannot let the shouts of Goliath cause our hearts to faint for we serve a mighty God whose sling casts a mighty Rock. We serve a God who cannot be outdone and who does not become intimidated by the sight of many who oppose Him. We serve a God who goes before us and is our Shield.

So stand up and rejoice, for the battle is already won. Rejoice in our Lord Jesus Christ and don’t let the enemy steal your joy………………rejoice in the Lord!

“Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors! Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place”. (Matt 23:32-34)

There are times I get so tunnel-visioned that I miss all the things God sets in place for me along this faith journey. Other times I get stuck staring in the mirror either admiring or critiquing what I see staring back at me that I miss what is happening behind me and even behind the mirror.

Not everyone takes an interest in prophecy and what is happening around the world, and that’s ok but if we get stuck staring at the moment we can miss the larger picture. God is personal and tends to our individual needs but there are many individuals and each of us gets His full attention. He is not tunnel-visioned by any sense of the word, but sets in place the big picture and wants us to know His plans; not just for each but for all.

That said; I have some breaking news.

America is not the center of the world and as much as we may glorify ourselves it is still not the glorious land! Before you get upset, stop and think a minute. Yes, this country and others have been blessed tremendously but like so many nations before us those blessings last only as long as our faithfulness in God. Furthermore, blessing is not just wrapped up in material prosperity because even the “wicked prosper” (Job 21:7) and “increase in riches” (Psalm 73:3). The measure of our blessings is not how well the stock market is doing or the height of the buildings we build; it is our faithfulness to God.

Christians! Open your eyes and ears and pay attention! The current presidential race is a distraction, reality TV is a distraction, attempts to boycott Israel is a futile distraction, marriage equality and gay rights is a distraction, the top story in the news is simply a distraction. Should we keep an eye on most of what’s going? Yes! We must be watchful at all times but don’t get lost in these things which are things of the world.

This is not a call to worry or to be afraid. It is not a message of despair or gloom. I am simply imploring each of us, myself included, to focus. Focus on the things of God and get back to believing in His word. There is work still to be done. God has said His word does not return to Him void (Isaiah 55:11), therefore, we know that prophecies are yet to be fulfilled. We Christians do not run and hide at the fulfillment of prophecy, we rejoice. We do not bury our heads in the sand when we see signs of the times. The faithful servants are ready to meet their master for they wait in confident expectation knowing they stayed awake caring for all that was left in their care.

While we are busy trying to think through the things that are happening, God is calling us to pray through them. The world is in a quandary and we must pray earnestly not just for our own circumstances or the things happening next door. The things happening and the things to come are no longer just regional, they are global and we Christians are called to pray earnestly.

The enemy is busy trying to preempt what God is about to do. He has released death and destruction, hate, fear, and all kinds of unrest in the world but we know the end of the story; we have read the end of the book and it’s time we act as if we do. It’s time we get focused!
