By all accounts, Pontius Pilate was not a righteous man, but he was at least interested in the truth and in declaring that he found no case against Yeshua (Jesus), he spoke the truth. Looking at world events today one may instead ask, “does the truth even matter?” We have re-branded lies in such a way that it’s now a popular strategy to gain attention, notoriety, and wealth. It may appear that facts no longer decide whether information is true or false, but if we like the information presented. Such an environment makes it more likely that the Antichrist will succeed in deceiving the nations.

According to the Prophet Daniel, the horn that “sets itself up to be as great as the Prince of the host” (Daniel 8:11) “will hurl truth to the ground and prosper in what it does” (Daniel 8:12b). You may call it lies, deception, falsehood, fake news, or any other noun but the end of it all is a system weaponized against truth. 

Believers in Yeshua know that an attack on truth in an attack on Him. Yeshua said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). When He was being questioned by Pilate, Yeshua said “everyone who is of the truth hears my voice” (John 18:37). This begs the question, whose voice do everyone else hear? Who do you listen to?

You may or may not like globalization, an interconnected world, or the fact that so much information is at our finger tips, but these are mere instruments being used to fulfill Yeshua’s prophecy that “there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything kept secret except that it would come to light” (Mark 4:22). News, rumors, and all sorts of information travel around the world in seconds and events that were once localized quickly spread to other continents. The Corona Virus is the most recent example of this. 

Truth matters, and we have the truth at our finger tips. Truth is the Word of God and the lock downs from Corona Virus has accelerated its spread around the world. This too is another prophecy of Yeshua being fulfilled before our eyes—”This Good News of the kingdom shall be proclaimed in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14).

Am I saying that Messiah is about to come? One can hope but no! I am saying that the more confusing the world gets the more Scripture proves true. The world tries to suppress the truth but in doing so gives it a larger platform. The world tries to suppress the Gospel but helps it spread more. Those who hate Yeshua and followers of Yeshua try to suppress Him but instead help to confirm His testimony.

Today, hold fast to Yeshua for in doing so you will know the truth and the truth will make you free!
